What is septic pumping?

How do I know if I need my septic system pumped?

There are a couple of obvious signs that your septic tank may need to be pumped.

Sewage backing up: This is the worst of the signs. Sewage backing up into your home. Yikes! Sewage back-ups can happen anywhere in your home’s drains but can also be a sign your septic tank may be full.

Maintenance Provider: If your maintenance provider is doing their job they should be measuring the level of sludge in your tank. This will indicate when a tank needs to be pumped.

Surfacing water: If you see water surfacing around your tank on leach field it could be time to pump.

Odors: If you smell sewage, please give us a call.

Recommendation: For a conventional system, we recommend you have your septic tank pumped at least every 3 to 5 years. For aerobic septic systems, it is very important that your maintenance provider is checking the levels of your tank.
